The pharmaceutical institution Galena Lab is located in Belgrade. It consists of:

PHARMACIES GALENA LAB, GALENA PARK, GALENA SPECIJA, GALENA VERA, GALENA CENTAR, AND GALENA A BLOK
WITHIN THE GALENA SPECIJA PHARMACY, THERE IS ALSO A LABORATORY FOR COMPOUNDING MEDICINES

The pharmacy was founded in 2000 as a family business of the married couple Nada and Sreten Cvetković, both of whom are graduate pharmacists with specializations. With minor changes to its visual identity and name, the pharmacy has been operating at the same location to this day.

Taking into account the well-being of patients, the pharmacies of the Galena Lab pharmaceutical institution perform the complete pharmaceutical health activity, and we provide our patients with a full spectrum of pharmaceutical healthcare services.

COMPOUNDING OF MEDICINES

Pharmaceutical institution Galena Lab, thanks to its personnel and technical potential, has been offering the service of compounding medicines for many years.

A compounded medicine is a drug prepared in a pharmacy according to a doctor's prescription for a specific patient, as a personalized therapy.

DISPENSING PRESCRIPTION MEDICINES

The Rulebook on the List of medicines and medical devices that are prescribed and dispensed at the expense of the compulsory health insurance funds is issued by the Republic Health Insurance Fund (RFZO).

The List of medicines consists of lists A, A1, B, C, and D.

REVIEW OF THE USE OF NEWLY INTRODUCED MEDICINES

According to some studies, as many as 30-50% of patients do not use prescribed medications correctly, and only 10 days after starting the application, about a third of patients do not use the prescribed medications correctly!

Patients, on the other hand, make the decision on whether to use a newly introduced drug shortly after its introduction into the regular therapy for a chronic disease. The most common reasons for patient concern are a lack of information about the drug and its effect on health, a lack of conviction in the necessity of using the drug, a misunderstanding of how to use the drug, coordinating the dosage regimen with daily activities, and concern about possible side effects.

PATIENT COUNSELING

Today, the pharmacy represents a primary healthcare institution in the full sense of the word. Accordingly, the role of the pharmacist in the pharmacy has evolved, which has created the need for additional knowledge and skills, one of which is patient counseling.

Within the counseling centers in our pharmacies, patients can get detailed information about their health condition, treatment methods, prescribed therapy, desirable lifestyle changes that include non-pharmacological measures, and also get motivated to adhere to the prescribed therapy.

ADDITIONAL PHARMACEUTICAL SERVICES

The primary activity of a pharmacist is to ensure safe and secure therapy, adhering to the "five rights" principle: the right patient, the right drug, in the right dose, by the right route, at the right time, and with the right advice!

The role of the pharmacist is increasingly focused on the care of patients suffering from chronic diseases, where pharmacists, in contact with the patient, have the opportunity to detect early changes in the patient's health status, to help them with self-medication, and in case of a more serious deterioration of their health, to refer them to a doctor.
